Aug 15, 2017 BlackBerry Handheld Software This will install to any carrier's 9700 by following the instructions below: Software Name: BlackBerry Handheld Software v6.0.0.3049 (Asia).
Sorry for the first post.it didn't appear to recognize IE 9. I downloaded and installed OS 6 on my Bold 9700, but immediately experienced the severe battery drain issues mentioned in various BB web sites. Apparently, a newer release (the 6.0.0.300 series) may have solved those issues, and hopefully the folks at AT&T will be able to offer that in the near future. But, despite the nice features offered in OS 6, I've downgraded back to 5.0 (which immediately solved the problem), and will await a revised version or input from AT&T before trying again.

I just did a search for updates and came up with nothing. You sure about this? What I don't understand about the OS6 hype is the lack of a 'column view' feature.
There are a good many sites and web pages that, when opened, show only a blank white screen. If I switch to column view, the page appears.
I can then switch back to page view and have everything be all right. I've also noted that some sites/pages can't be navigated on page view. Icons can't be clicked on and some links don't even display on the page unless viewed as column view. I just don't get it. OS6 would absolutely damage my internet experience. I upgraded to OS6 on my bold 9700.
It is snappy and for the most part I like it. Some ways they changed they arranged a lot of the things but at the same time much easier.
I like the new notification and social feeds. Those that are having a bad experience might want to back track the inital setup slows down the phone as it is trying to configure. After that its smooth sailing. I am left with 49mb of application space. I got rid of blackberry messenger and documents to go to free up some space.
Blackberry OS6 is pushing the bold 9700 to the limits. If anyone thinks that once OS7 is out and wants to upgrade to that is crazy lol.
As for the battery drain. Its about the same depending on usage. Had it going for 2 days before needing to charge. Just like OS5 if I am constantly using 3G intensive. The battery will likely be low the very same day. So overall I like OS6. The browser actually works.
Much better than opera mini, and the bolt browswer How's that a good reason to upgrade to OS6. MarioJP, I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I have also upgraded my 9700 to OS 6 and would like to get rid of BB Messenger as well, but I do not know how to do it.

I cannot find the option to delete in 'Applications Management'. Would you reply with the process you used?
I like the new OS 6 as well, but your right that it will take a little getting used to. The only real complaint I have is that when you are on the minimized main home page, you can't just hit the menu button to expand the home page showing all of the app shortcuts. Now you have to either hit the menu button, then click 'open tray' (two buttons to push instead of just one).
Or you have to scroll up to the new menu bar to select 'All' and if 'All' is not showing you have to scroll sideways to get to it then press again. I'm all about quick access and this function is a step backward IMO. The other issue I have with the BB in general is that when you upgrade any of their OS's it does not backup your customized home screen shortcut folders or the arrangement order of the apps on the home page. It takes me forever to create new folders and move all of the shortcuts where I had them before.
These settings should be saved along with all of the other app settings (email, wi-fi, etc.) Another thing, what happened to all of the free ring tones that were in OS 5? I can only find a dozen or so. There used to be a whole lot more and the 'Classic' ring tone I use is now called 'Classic Remix' and the actual tone is much shorter in duration and has a longer pause between them making it hard to hear the phone ring.
Do you know if the old 'Classic' ring tone is still available for free download from BB? Have you found any cool features that they've incorporated in this new OS? I'm still trying to rearrange all of my shortcuts, so I have not had much of a chance to play around with it. Sorry for all of the questions. If you don't have time to respond to all of my comments/questions, the one question I would like responded to is how to delete the 'BB Messenger' app.
